Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy governs your use of Portus PBX services. Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

Prohibited Activities

You may not use our services for: unsolicited bulk calling or SMS (spam), robocalling without prior express written consent, caller ID spoofing for deceptive purposes, telemarketing in violation of TCPA or applicable law, phishing, fraud, or impersonation, harassment or threats of any kind, premium rate service fraud or traffic pumping, or any activity that violates local, state, or federal law.

Call Volume & Traffic

Unusual call volumes or patterns may trigger automatic review. Accounts generating excessive short-duration calls, high concurrent call volumes, or patterns consistent with fraud will be suspended pending investigation.

SIP Credential Security

You are responsible for securing your SIP credentials. Compromised credentials used for toll fraud are the account holder responsibility. Enable strong passwords and do not share credentials. Report suspected compromise immediately.

Emergency Services (911)

Portus PBX is not a replacement for traditional phone service. Our service does not support emergency 911 calling. Do not rely on Portus PBX as your sole means of communication in an emergency.

Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring your use of our services complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to: TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act), STIR/SHAKEN caller ID authentication requirements, GDPR or applicable data protection laws, and FCC regulations.
